Mr Alastair Davidson is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Knee surgery at the Schoen Clinic. He has been a Consultant for over 15 years and still works full time as an NHS Consultant where he trains Junior Doctors.
He spent most of his training at London teaching hospitals as well as a Specialist Fellowship year in Sydney, and a final Specialist Training year at the Hip and Knee unit at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He specialises in all aspects of Knee surgery including injections, joint preservation, keyhole arthroscopy, sports injuries, ligament reconstruction, osteotomy, knee replacement including partial, total and revision joint replacement including customised and robotic techniques. He has a particular interest in biological reconstruction, cartilage repair and resurfacing and participated in the national MRC ACTIVE trial on Cartilage resurfacing. He has published and presented nationally and internationally.
He has taught on RNOH Stanmore courses and to Imperial College medical students as well as acting as an examiner. He has also had the privilege of being a British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellow. Mr Davidson is a member of the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Orthopaedic Association. He is happily married with two children and enjoys his sports such as rugby, golf, ski-ing, fencing, sailing, and travel.
