About the Role
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Schoen Clinic Chelsea.
The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of the service, providing clinical expertise in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. They will be working with and supported by an experienced Associate Specialist and will be responsible for the psychiatric and medical management of patients, including patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
You will be working as part of a highly talented and close multidisciplinary team of eating disorder professionals. The support you will provide will enable our patients to help themselves recover faster.

Principle Duties
Medical assessment of patients
Psychiatric assessment including eating disorder and non-eating disorder psychopathology
Formulation of complex cases with medical and psychiatric needs
Attend the clinical MDT meetings as well as take part in MDT discussions around high-risk patients
Participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding the most appropriate treatment settings for patients
Implementation of guidelines
Treating and monitoring of psychiatric aspects of eating disorders, including core psychopathology and psychiatric co-morbidities, such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, borderline personality disorder and autistic spectrum disorders
Prescribing, which extends beyond the usual psychiatric formulary, and appropriately monitoring medications (according to relevant NICE guidelines)
Work together with clinical and operational colleagues to oversee the team's overall clinical performance
Work closely with clinical and managerial leaders to improve and develop services.

Skills & requirements
You will have specialist registration with the General Medical Council and a license to practice as well as the following:
Essential
On Specialist Register or within 6 months of the expected CCT date
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant
Approved Clinician status or willingness to achieve this
Knowledge of the physical complications of mental health disorders and their challenges.
