Our Chelsea Clinic is a highly specialised outpatient and day clinic treating privately-funded adults, adolescents and children with eating disorders, anxiety and depression.

We are currently looking for high calibre individuals who can combine financial expertise, analytical capabilities, and a caring mentality to join our Chelsea Clinic Team as a Billing Officer.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

To suceeed in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following characteristics

  • To ensure that patient accounts are billed accurately in a timely manner in line within the department targets and billing agreements,
  • Liaise with the Patient Finance Dept. regarding query and exception management. 
  • Process and check for accuracy and make adjustments to bills to clear queries in line with policies and agreements in place,
  • Liaise with the hospital teams, medical secretaries and consultants to ensure accurate data capture and ensure all relevant parties comply,
  • Liaise with the clinical coding team and the strategic project manager to identify potential growth points for the hospital,
  • Liaise with the IT team, to ensure service codes are mapped and set up on the SAP system, with Healthcode and also with Insurers.
  • Manage the Petty Cash and ensure all payment receipts are recorded daily.
  • Deal with patient queries face to face, over the phone and via email.
  • Contribute to the strategic, operational and business development of the hospital. Comply with and complete audit requirements including escalation of non-compliance,
  • Act as a point of contact for process impacted billing and assist with debt related queries,
  • Manage self-pay accounts receivable,
  • Review billing and patient admin processes and change if necessary
  • Support and prepare payer audit
