The post holder will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in delivering specialist assessment, formulation and intervention to women experiencing complex mental health difficulties including issues associated with PTSD, Complex Trauma, Dissociation and personality difficulties.
The post involves providing consultation to the wider nursing team, also providing clinical supervision to multidisciplinary colleagues where necessary. The post holder requires excellent communication skills alongside competence in working with and managing risk and interpersonal conflict.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate understanding of the unique challenges associated with working people with extensive trauma histories including issues of transference and countertransference along with the ability to foster and develop this understanding in the wider team.
The advertised post is to work within our female 8-bedded specialist inpatient unit.
The service specialises in treating people with difficulties related to complex PTSD and dissociative disorders (including Dissociative Identity Disorder). Service-users are likely to present with complex presentations and co-morbidity, which may include Personality Disorder (PD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The team consists of a full multi-disciplinary team, including a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapists, Social Worker, RMNs and Support Workers.
All candidates should have excellent clinical and communication skills along with a passion for working alongside a highly complex and challenging client group. Experience of working with those with dissociative experiences is an advantage.
