Description

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing the highest standard of quality and clinical care to patients at Schoen Clinic Chelsea. This exciting opportunity will involve planning, implementing, assessing and evaluating nursing care, using evidence-based practice.  Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team is a key feature of the role, as well as utilising a patient-centred approach and involving families and carers in planning and implementation of care. The staff nurse 

Principle Duties
•    Work with an awareness of the NICE and MARSIPAN guidelines for the treatment of eating disorders in children, young people and adults.
•    Assist with the highly specialist assessment, admission and discharge.
•    Establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
•    Assist in the development, co-facilitation and staffing of therapeutic groups.
•    Manage the implementation of therapeutic meal provision.
•    Demonstrate awareness of Safeguarding principles in all dealings with patients their families and carers.
•    Follow the guidelines for the administration of ECG’S and taking of bloods and ensure that all staff are competent in doing so, working in collaboration with Schoen Clinic London senior nursing team to co-ordinate staff training and competency assessment in this area.
•    Undertake the induction, mentorship and preceptorship of staff new to the service in conjunction with the rest of the MDT.
•    Keep adequate and timely records which comply with Schoen Clinic and NMC guidelines.
•    Ensure good practice in terms of updating and informing all members of the MDT and appropriate others about current nursing care plans and the physical and psychological progress of the patients.

Due to the commitment to continuous improvement, it is likely that the post will evolve over time. These duties will be subject to regular review and any amendments will be made in consultation and agreement with the post holder.
