Jess begun work within inpatient psychology across the Essex region working with mood disorders, personality disorders and psychosis delivering group interventions and conducting psychometric assessments. She then gained experience within a supported living environment for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs helping people thrive within their day to day lives and work towards their goals. 

Jess then begun work as an Assistant Psychologist within adult eating disorders in Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Jess has worked 1-1 delivering a brief Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with clients with Bulimia Nervosa, running group Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for Binge Eating Disorder and devising a group intervention for Purging disorder (which currently comes under the Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders in the DSM 5).

Jess has worked on two research papers looking into patient experience of brief CBT as well as the effectiveness of this intervention inpatient recovery.

As an Assistant Psychologist, Jess will work across each of the day patient programmes running therapeutic groups, she will deliver outpatient 1-1 therapy, provide key-worker support and offer a non-judgemental compassionate approach with a specific focus in problem-solving and overcoming issues in the here and now.

Training and Awards:

Jess graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology with a professional placement year. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Ten (CBT-T) for Bulimia Nervosa. Jess is currently training in third-wave CBT practices including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
