Joanna is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Cognitive Analytic Therapist with extensive experience working in NHS inpatient and outpatient eating disorder services for adults and young people. In addition, she has also been in independent practice for several years, providing psychotherapy for a range of difficulties, including relational issues, anxiety, depression and eating disorders.

Joanna takes an integrative approach to therapy to meet each individual’s needs; primarily drawing on psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models of therapy and encouraging a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship where difficulties can be explored and change can be fostered.

Areas of interest include relational issues, personality disorder, attachment, patterns of relating and the underlying functions of disordered eating.

Joanna has completed specialist training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, currently awaiting accreditation and MANTRA (Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults).

Joanna is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).
