Our management consists of the Governance Board of Directors and the Senior Leadership Team. The Board of Directors delegate the day-to-day management of Schoen Clinic London to the Quality Governance Board. 

Quality Governance Board

This committee is responsible for providing the Board of Directors with assurance on all aspects of clinical safety and effectiveness; governance and regulatory compliance, patient focused quality information and audit, risk management, shaping and promoting a safe, healthy and quality focused culture and staff development and management.

Andreas Ludowig - Director of Schoen Clinic UK

Following his studies in economics, Andreas Ludowig was active in international strategy consultancy for Booz & Company. He started at Schoen Clinic in 2007 and has held various positions within group, such as head of corporate development and managing director of two major mental health and neurology Schoen Clinic hospitals. Today, Andreas is the managing director for Schoen Clinic’s business in the UK, the German mental health business as well as Schoen Clinic’s international business with embassy patients.

Erin Shaffer - Hospital Director

Erin joined Schoen Clinic London in June 2018 from The University of Chicago Medical Center where she was Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular Center and Transplantation Institute. Prior to this, Erin spent the majority of her career with the Cleveland Clinic Health System, primarily focusing on operations, service line leadership and managing a multi-specialty practice of over 170 employed physicians and consultant surgeons. Erin brings with her a wealth of experience with employed consultant models, partnering with consultants to develop strategy, quality initiatives, and operational efficiencies.

Anthony Fitzgerald - Head of Clinical Services

Anthony has been with Schoen Clinic London since November 2016. He has a 20 year nursing career that spans acute care, coronary care and general surgery, in Australia, Europe and the UK, moving into hospital management in 2012. He is a member of Schoen Clinic London's Quality Governance Board, driving the highest standards of care by developing a quality culture from ward level to board level. Anthony provides leadership to the clinical and quality management teams, supporting the delivery of care to patients that is safe, effective, caring and responsive to their needs, and developing a culture of learning and improvement that improves patient experience.

 

Ian Lilley - Head of Business Operations

 

Ian has over 20 years of healthcare facilities experience, primarily for Sodexo within facilities such as Queen Mary's PFI Hospital, Roehampton. Joining Schoen Clinic in 2017, Ian is responsible for majority of the hospital's non-clinical functions including maintenance, procurement, front of house, call handling, medical secretariat, catering and portering.

 

Dustin Reibe - Head of Payor Management

In 2014, Dustin joined Schoen Clinic in Germany to focus on optimising the clinical coding process across the group. As part of the Business Development Team he then developed a pricing strategy for Schoen Clinic London which he ultimately negotiated and implemented with all the major private medical insurers in the UK. In 2017 Dustin oversaw the successful opening of Schoen Clinic London as its Strategic Project Manager before being appointed as Head of Payor Management UK in 2018. His responsibilities include contract relationships with all private medical insurers, and other payors including NHS England and regional CCGs. He is also responsible for the patient accounts department.

 

Paulina Gorniack - Head of Finance UK

Paulina joined Schoen Clinic as Financial Controller in 2018. As a member of the senior leadership team, Paulina supports the strategic financial, operational, business development and management of the spinal, orthopaedic and mental health hospitals which operate across four UK locations. Prior to this position, Paulina’s career included roles with Syneos Health, GE Healthcare Finnamore and EY. Paulina is dedicated to supporting strategic and operational improvements in order to deliver best care for patients.

 

Leander Harrison - Relationship & Development Manager

Leander joined Schoen Clinic London in April 2018 from The Lister Hospital in Chelsea.  Her responsibilities involve working closely with our consultants to construct and achieve strategic, sustainable and personalised growth plans across the Central London market. Leander has worked in healthcare for over a decade and is passionate about the delivery of authentic and empathetic customer care, as well as providing a streamlined referral pathway into Schoen Clinic London for our patients and referrers. 

 

Karen Hewitt - Head of Marketing UK

Karen joined Schoen Clinic in September 2017, with nearly ten years marketing experience in the private healthcare industry. Previously she has held various Marketing & Business Development managment positions with Aspen Healthcare and Ramsay Healthcare. For Schoen Clinic London, Karen has responsibility for identifying growth opportunities and executing marketing strategies designed to maxmise these opportunities, as well as increasing brand awareness of the hospital amongst healthcare professionals and the general public.

 

Anthea Besser - Head of Human Resources UK

Anthea joined Schoen Clinic London in December 2018, after working seven years in the independent health sector for a leading medical charity. She has built a solid career as an HR professional, leading general HR services as well as Learning and Development functions and Organisational Development. Anthea’s role is to support managers and employees enabling them to provide outstanding service to all of our patients. Anthea supports the Leadership Team in developing People Strategies, ensuring we are an employer of choice, and able to attract and retain highly talented health professionals. Anthea’s specialist areas of interest are in employee engagement, culture change and workforce planning.
