About our Spine Specialists

Our back specialists work together in the centre to offer a multi-disciplinary approach.  Within a single outpatient visit you are assessed, have any diagnostic tests required and a consultation with the most appropriate specialist to discuss the treatment options before leaving with a clear treatment plan. For patients with complex conditions we champion multi-disciplinary pathways and the involvement of the wider clinical team for individual case discussions and treatment decisions.

You can be sure that each back specialist at Schoen Clinic London, who provides consultation advice and treatment, is one of the most experienced practitioners in their field. Our Consultant Neurosurgeons and Orthopaedic Surgeons, carry out thousands of consultations and perform hundreds of operations each year, and are nationally and internationally recognised as exceptional medical professionals in the field of back and spinal disorders. In addition to their work at Schoen Clinic most also have substantive NHS posts.

Within our team we have consultants who specialise in different aspects of spinal care; for example we have specialists who are particularly experienced in deformities of the spine, and others with a specialisation in spinal tumours. Schoen Clinic is especially able to deal with sport injuries since a number of our consultants are extremely interested in this field. It is not uncommon for surgeons from the clinic to be treating elite level athletes, including national team members, from a number of different sports. Some also hold prestigious positions on the medical boards and associations of different sporting bodies.

Our consultants use the most modern, minimally invasive, keyhole surgery techniques to provide the best evidence-based treatments and outcomes for their patients. They are also at the cutting-edge of research into surgical techniques and conservative care of patients with neck and spinal pain.

Running a marathon? Top tips on avoiding injury

Regular training sessions and long distance runs can have a cumulative effect on the body. Seemingly small niggles can build up resulting in a much larger, more serious injury which may mean you have to stop training altogether.
