Sarah graduated with The Open University in May 2019, with a First Class Honours Psychology degree. Throughout 5 years of studying, she has gained various experience. She started working as a Teaching Assistant in a school for children with Autism-Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Sarah worked closely with children aged 15 and promoted their education.
Sarah started working as a healthcare assistant at The Priory, on the female ward with people who suffered from depression, anxiety, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar and eating disorders. Soon after starting, she was promoted to a senior healthcare assistant, which meant managing admissions, leading staff learning groups and providing clinical supervision. More recently, Sarah became a therapy assistant for the eating disorder programme at The Priory. This involved running therapy groups, such as MANTRA, self-soothe and mindfulness. This also included running meal-times, participating in ward rounds and communicating with families.
Sarah joined Schoen Clinic Centre for Mental Health Chelsea at the beginning of February, and is excited to continue her journey in helping people suffering with mental health difficulties. As a Therapy Assistant, Sarah will support the running of the programme, provide key-worker support and offer a compassionate, non-judgemental approach to the staff and patients at Schoen.
