Helen Holmes is a highly experienced Psychologist & Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience in mental health care, working with adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents. Helen works with children in play and art therapy and adolescents and adults in expressive arts and talking therapy, such as CBT. Helen adapts her therapy for individuals and families with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
Offering sessions in person, online, or over the phone, Helen provides a warm and professional therapeutic space, creating an environment where clients feel safe, heard, and respected.

Helen’s practice is centred on providing a compassionate, confidential, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, memories and experiences. She believes in the importance of providing a secure environment that promotes openness and trust. In each session, clients can expect Helen to listen closely, with empathy and insight, to support them in their journey toward personal growth and healing, with strategies to help manage their difficulties.
Background and specialisations
Helen has dedicated her career to supporting a wide range of populations, including LGBTQI+, neurodivergent and marginalised communities, helping them to feel empowered and understood. After earning her first degree in Philosophy and Theology from London University, Helen helped establish The Big Issue in London, where she worked with young people experiencing homelessness. Over the past three decades, she has worked in various mental health settings across the UK and the USA, honing her expertise through extensive training in multiple therapeutic approaches, such as:
