Schoen Clinic Centre for Mental Health Chelsea
Occupational Therapist - Eating Disorders (Children 11-17 years)
* Tom works with in-house therapy groups at Schoen Clinic Chelsea and is not available for private outpatient appointments *
Tom is an Occupational Therapist specialising in the private treatment in London of young people (11-17 years) with eating disorders at Schoen Clinic Chelsea.
Tom is a Royal College registered Occupational Therapist with considerable experience working in a number of services for adolescent eating disorders. In addition, Tom also has extensive experience, in a number of different settings, working with young people with autism, both in the context of an eating disorder presentation, and without.
As an Occupational Therapist, Tom believes it’s important for treatment and interventions to be both functional, as in in-service to the functioning of the individual, and individualised, so that the functioning is both important and contributory to the young person and their family’s wellbeing.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in the teaching, development and supervision of students, junior staff and other professionals and has lectured and workshopped at a number of universities, conferences and services, both nationally and internationally.
Tom is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
