About the Role
As a Housekeeper at Schoen Clinic York you will provide a housekeeping service to our services, maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Unit, using approved cleaning materials, and adhering to infection control, and health and safety policies.
This is a permanent position working on a shift basis across 5 days per week 7am - 7pm
Key Accountabilities
Provide laundry services (Inc. washing, drying, and ironing) for site linen, patient clothes, catering services and soft furnishings.
Collect used laundry from each unit ensuring infection prevention control steps are taken.
Ensure patient clothing is individually labelled and packed per patient.
Responsible for the stock take and monitoring of all cleaning and laundry products to meet COSHH guidance.
Clean floor areas by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.
Removal of rubbish from designated areas to correct disposal point.
Clean sanitary areas, including toilets, sinks, shower cubicles, baths.
Damp dust all surfaces, ledges, shelves and curtain rails.
Clean internal glass, including windows, mirrors and other reflective surfaces.
Clean chairs, tables and carpets where necessary.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry services at all times. Carry out spot cleaning and spillage management as required, in line with infection control policies.
Report any issues of concern to General Manager.
Ensure that all equipment is safe and maintained and any defects are reported to line management.
Skills & requirements
You will have experience of working within a similar role as a Domestic Assistant or Housekeeper within a front facing environment such as hospitals, healthcare or hospitality. You will have experience of providing laundry and cleaning services and knowledge of COSHH, awareness of good hygiene standards, infection control and the ability to work within health and safety guidelines
