Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you need support with an eating disorder or an anxiety or mood disorder we're here to help. We understand that if you're taking the first steps towards recovery yourself, or if you're worried about a family member or a loved one, you're bound to have some questions along the way.

We've compiled some of our frequently asked questions below but should you need any further assistance, our caring team is available and happy to help guide you through the process.

Schoen Clinic Chelsea offers a range of treatments for 11 years+ with eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, other specified feeding eating disorders (OSFED). We also treat adults with eating disorders.

For people experiencing depression, we specialise in single depressive episodes, recurrent depressive episodes, dysthymia and cyclothymia. For those experiencing anxiety, we specialise in phobias, acute stress, anxiety-related dissociative states, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).

We also help those going through grief or bereavement.

This service is perfect for patients not requiring inpatient care but who need fast access to specialised treatment. Consultations and therapy sessions are accessible in clinic and we offer specialised full or part-time day treatment programmes.

Our treatment programmes cover key areas for recovery, including group psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), art therapy, our Compassionate Mind group, talking therapies, dance movement therapy, assertiveness, dietetic support and mindfulness.

We have developed an innovative stepped-care model, enabling you to work through the programmes at your own pace. Tailored to 11-17 year olds, the eating disorders intensive treatment programme begins with the full-day programme initially, often including a combination of 1:1 treatment, group therapy and family support.

Our specialised day programmes consist of:

  • Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychology
  • Specialist Mealtime Support and Dietetics
  • One-to-One Therapy
  • Group Therapy
  • Family Therapy

Adult patients will be supported in their treatment by a team comprising healthcare professionals from a range of backgrounds (known as a multidisciplinary team), who meet regularly to review treatment progress and plans.

The team can include psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, family therapists, consultant psychiatrists, nurses and the clinic director.

The patient will also have a key worker who they meet regularly to develop a care plan which sets out goals and support for treatment. In addition to regular psychiatric review, there is a range of group and individual therapy sessions available if needed.

The prices listed below are a guide and can vary depending on your specific treatment requirements. We will confirm your treatment costs after your initial consultation/assessment (priced from £250).
