About the Role
As an Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the clinical care plans and welfare of our residents and ensure that the care, health and social needs are met in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. You will be required to liaise and maintain effective relationships with external authorities, relatives of service users and the general public.
You will ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including the security of the home and to ensure the physical environment is maintained to the highest standards.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all medication is received, recorded, stored, administered and disposed of in accordance with Schoen Clinic policy and NMC guidelines.
Carry out nursing procedures as necessary; which may include prescribed dressings and other aspects of wound management, venepuncture and catheter care.
Provide and assist our residents in all aspects of individual personal care needs alongside the care assistants
Support the residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities as and when required.
Promote the wellbeing and general health of our residents
Support the Clinical Lead in formulating and delivering individual care plans to our residents
Complete, store and transmit relevant and accurate records
Respect the confidentiality of service users
Report any concerns regarding possible abuse of service users immediately
Report any accidents, incidents, verbal concerns or complaints
Contribute to the maintenance of a pleasant, hygienic, healthy and safe environment
Skills & requirements
As a registered nurse (RGN), you must maintain an active NMC registration without restrictions. A thorough understanding of dementia, its types, symptoms, and impact on daily living is essential. Knowledge of discharge pathways for transitioning residents from hospital to home or other care settings is critical to ensure they receive appropriate support.
Familiarity with CQC regulations is necessary to comply with safe and effective care standards. You should identify signs of abuse or neglect and understand reporting procedures to protect patients and uphold their rights.
On top of this, you will have experience or knowledge in the following:
Supporting with GP and other professional visits: Collaborate with GPs and healthcare professionals by coordinating visits and sharing patient information for comprehensive care.
Knowledge of risk assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential patient safety risks.
Experience of completing assessments: Gather and analyse patient information to develop effective, holistic care plans.
Experience in delivering end-of-life care: Support patients and families with sensitivity, ensuring comfort and dignity during end-of-life care.
Experience of leading the shift: Lead shifts by supervising staff, coordinating care, and fostering a collaborative environment.
