About Dr Isabelle Mercer
Qualifications
PhD, HCPC - Clin. Psych
Dr Isabelle Mercer is a Clinical Psychologist at Schoen Clinic Chelsea who provides specialist therapy for a full range of mental health challenges. She works with children, teenagers and adults, supporting individuals with both common and complex emotional difficulties.
While she is experienced across the entire spectrum of mental health needs, Dr Mercer has particular expertise in anxiety, trauma, depression, relational issues, chronic pain and self-esteem-related concerns.
Central to Dr Mercer’s approach is the creation of a therapeutic space that feels safe, respectful and gently challenging. She works with people who may feel stuck in repeating emotional or behavioural patterns, such as perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional avoidance or chronic overthinking, and helps them understand the roots of these difficulties.
Her work empowers individuals to develop deeper emotional insight, build resilience, and move towards meaningful, sustainable change.
With a background spanning NHS and private services, Dr Mercer has supported patients from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals and people with long-term health conditions. She brings warmth, sensitivity and clinical expertise to her work, ensuring therapy is tailored to each person’s experiences and goals.
