Our Senior Leadership Team at Schoen Clinic London consists of the Governance Board of Directors and operational members of the on-site senior management team.

Stephen Smith - Hospital Director

Stephen’s extensive sector experience spans 35 years and includes Interim Hospital Director of Sheffield’s Claremont Private Hospital, National Managing Director of Virgin Care (UK) and Hospital Director at BMI Healthcare.  He also comes with a wealth of international experience, having previously held senior positions in Australia and the Far East. 

Stephen is responsible for the leadership and further development of Schoen Clinic London which will involve developing the employed Consultant models and partnering with new Consultants to drive quality healthcare and the clinical excellence Schoen Clinic London is widely known for. As well as building new relationships with stakeholders, private medical insurers, GPs and other Allied Health Professionals.

Senior leadership team

Dr Tim Wigmore - Medical Director

Tim joined the Schoen Clinic in May 2018 as Medical Director and is a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing oversight of medical governance. 

Tim has worked in the field of anaesthesia and intensive care for 25 years and has spent the last 15 years, focusing on Oncology. He has many years of senior medical leadership experience in the NHS. In addition to being Medical Director at Schoen Clinic London, Tim continues his extensive work at the Royal Marsden as a clinician and researcher as well as being the sector Critical Care Network Chair.

Theo Luck - Chief Nurse

Theo is a dual-qualified (paediatric and adult) critical care nurse. He spent his clinical career working across many of London’s most respected Acute NHS Trusts including Imperial, King’s, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Theo developed his operational and project management skills working in the production and events industry before returning to health care. He has led large multidisciplinary teams and departments in both the NHS and the Private sector. Most recently at Phoenix Hospital Group where he was responsible for the quality and clinical development.

Leander Harrison - Director of Operations

Leander joined Schoen Clinic in April 2018 and brings with her more than a decade of experience working across the London private healthcare system. 

A member of the senior leadership team, she is skilled in operational delivery and people management with a proven track record of process improvement and budget management. Always with the optimum patient outcome front and centre, Leander is passionate about delivering exceptional levels of customer service, both personally and through her teams.

Elizabeth Mathews - Business Development Manager 

Elizabeth has a wealth of experience within private healthcare having worked in the industry for the past 12 years. She gained in-depth knowledge of healthcare services during her time at HealthInvestor progressing on to lead the Investor Relations Programme at Circle Health. During this time, she also provided a valuable contribution to multiple projects, including the establishment of inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the UK.

With Circle Health, Elizabeth spent some time living in China to launch a joint venture to establish high-end diagnostic facilities for high net worth individuals. Since returning to the UK, Elizabeth spent time at Nuffield Health where she worked on developing digital solutions for the improvement of customer experience as well as supporting the IHPN response to Covid-19.
