Dr Arati Wimalasingham

Dr Arati Wimalasingham is a Specialty Grade Doctor in Psychiatry at Schoen Clinic York. Dr Wimalasingham has always been passionate about supporting people facing mental health problems and has extensive experience in the area.

With her GP training experience, she has worked with a wide scope of both physical and mental health conditions and as such, offers a hollistic approach to treatment.

She joined our mutlidisciplinary team in 2023 where she is medically responsible for the physical health of pateints being treated for a variety of eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED).

At Schoen Clinic York, Dr Wimalasingham runs daily physical health ward rounds and conducts mental health assessments to develop individualised treatment plans that meet the specific needs of each patient. In collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of eating disorder specialists, Dr Wimalasingham provides comprehensive care to patients, including those with complex clinical presentations.

She is also responsible for monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

Dr Wimalasingham is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to help patients achieve long-term recovery from their eating disorder.

In addition, Dr Wimalasingham is a qualified Therapeutic Yoga teacher.
