Parent Practitioner - Eating Disorders (Children & Young People)
Gill is a Parent Practitioner at Schoen Clinic Newbridge liaising with parents and families of the children, teens and young people in our care undergoing treatment for eating disorders.
Gill has worked at Schoen Clinic Newbridge for the last 15 years; originally joining the team as a nurse. During the course of her career with us, she has developed within her role at the hospital and is now Parent Practitioner. Gill has an incredibly caring nature and is able to connect with both young people as well as parents and families of those affected by eating disorders.
Gill has extensive experience in the mental health space, having previously worked for the NHS, both as a registered mental nurse managing a day hospital and as a nurse/therapist managing adult mental health day services in Walsall, West Midlands. During this time, Gill attended Birmingham University and earned a degree in Community Mental Health before going on to achieve a Diploma at Masters level in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Whilst working in adult mental health services, Gill also gained a certificate in Behavioural Family Therapy and Counselling.
Gill's skill set and clinical experience have proven invaluable in her role as a Parent Practitioner.
