Assistant Psychologist - Eating Disorders (Adults 18+)
Isabel Burrow is an Assistant Psychologist specialising in treating adults with eating disorders at Schoen Clinic York and has been part of the team since 2022. Isabel is incredibly passionate about supporting individuals and their families with disordered eating.
In a previous role as a Support Worker, she gained experience within mental health, learning disability and older adult services. During her time as a Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coordinator, Isabel provided psycho-education to students about the benefits of exercise, nutrition, sleep and mindfulness.
As part of our expert multidisciplinary team (MDT) of adult eating disorder specialists, Isabel runs several individual and group therapy sessions including Self-esteem, LEAP, Core CBT, BodyWise and Psycho-Education. She also co-facilitates the MANTRA group with Nicola Birkin and the DBT Skills group with Chelsey Knox. and provides support for patients who exhibit emotional or behavioural problems.
She is very active in the recovery process, regularly taking part in MDT meetings to discuss and review patient progress and working in collaboration with the team to update care plans when needed.
Isabel strongly believes in taking a holistic approach to treatment in order to address all aspects of disordered eating. She is also keenly interested in research as part of Schoen Clinic's wider research group to continually improve outcomes for patients undergoing treatment for eating disorders.
As an Assistant Psychologist at Schoen Clinic York, Isabel works with patients in residential care as well as adults on the daycare programme for disordered eating.
