When should you seek mental health advice?

It’s normal to experience feelings of worry, sadness, upset or emotional struggles from time to time and these feelings may resolve without causing long-term issues. However, sometimes negative feelings can worsen and lead to a mental health problem, such as depression, anxiety, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) or an eating disorder.

If this is the case, it’s important to seek mental health advice and specialist care so you can get on the road to recovery.

What are the mental health treatment options available at Schoen Clinic?

As one of the leading private mental health services in the UK, we offer a range of mental health treatments, including:

  • Outpatient mental health treatment – During outpatient treatment, you’ll attend one of our private mental health hospitals in the UK, usually on a weekly basis.
  • Day care programmes – During our day care programmes, you’ll attend for a certain number of days each week, for mental health or eating disorder treatment and therapy.

  • Inpatient (residential) treatment – Residential treatment involves you coming to stay with us in one of our leading residential mental health facilities in the UK for specialised treatment, where you receive 24-hour support.

What therapies are available to me as part of my mental health recovery?

We understand that no two people are the same, so nor should your treatment be. To help you recover as quickly as possible, we offer a range of therapies including:

  • One-to-one therapy – This happens individually between you and one of our highly specialised mental health experts.
  • Group therapy – You’ll be treated with a group of patients who may be going through similar circumstances to you.
  • Family therapy – During family therapy, you and your loved ones will together develop an understanding of what you’re going through and how you can be best supported.
How common are mental health disorders?

Mental health disorders are extremely common. Did you know that:

One in four people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year.

One in six people experience the more common mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression or stress (www.mind.org.uk).

Mental health disorders are treatable, and we provide the best mental health treatments available to make this possible. By choosing us to help you with your mental health recovery, you’re selecting a team of experts, an approach that’s driven by clinical research, and a unique multidisciplinary team.
